Jan Jaluvka - An able, experienced, inspired Niagara Falls piano teacher

He has kept up to date with his professional development by attending music pedagogy seminars and master classes at Eastman School of Music
in Rochester, New York.

Jan’s great love and passion for music led him into a wide range of musical pursuits. These include composition of a variety of pieces for piano as well as works for orchestra and band. He has always been active in church music having served in various capacities including church service pianist, guest organist, piano soloist and vocal soloist at Kitchener Street United Church and later at Lundy’s Lane United Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Jan was instrumental in the formation of Niagara Concerts, serving as its founding president. This highly successful community-based cultural organization has been presenting classical and contemporary music performances by major artists for over thirty years.

Jan is a practising lawyer with the Niagara Falls, Ontario law firm of Jaluvka & Sauer Lawyers.

He holds post-secondary degrees from The University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School.

The idea to create Jaluvka Piano School first developed from Jan’s desire to teach piano to his own daughter, Tatjana Jaluvka, whom he has taught since 1999 and who recently completed her Grade 10 Royal Conservatory (RCM) piano examination with honours. This idea grew to its present form of working with a limited number of talented and motivated students to not only teach them to become highly-skilled pianists but to also help them develop a broader understanding and appreciation of music in general.
